DescriptionReviews
We often use the desert as a metaphor for life's struggles. This Vibe brings that metaphor to life through images that give us a taste of the magnitude and severity of life in a desert. Follow along as a man stumbles through a REAL desert looking for a time and place of refreshing. Music by the Robbie Seay Band. 2 Versions: With and Without Titles.

Main Point:  Life without the living water proves to be a desolate place.

Synopsis:

  • A lone man wanders through the wasteland searching for the living water. As he cries out, He is no longer. Lyrics listed below.
  • Filmed on location in the desert—the guy encounters barrenness, tumbleweed, sage, and endless dunes—there’s a haze over the lens giving the feel of hopeless, lonely wandering.
  • The man’s cries for the Lord are superimposed on the screen—he asks for Jesus to quicken him, rise in him, and drink of him.
  • I have no wit, no words, no tears; My heart within me like a stone is numbered too much for hope or fears. Look right look left. I dwell alone. I life mine eyes but dimmed with grief No everlasting hills I see; My life is in the falling leaf, O Jesus quicken me.
  • My life is like a faded leaf; my harvest dwindled to a husk. Truly my life is void and brief and tedious in the barren dusk; my life is like a frozen thing, no bud nor greenness can I see, yet rise it shall the map of spring. O Jesus rise in me.
  • My life is like a bowl, a broken bowl that cannot hold. One drop of water for my soul. Or cordial in the searching cold. Cast in the fire the perished thing; Melt and remove it ‘til it be a royal cup for Him my King. O, Jesus drink of me.
  • High quality production quality.

Application:

  • Jesus quenches the thirst of the spiritually thirsty.
  • In reality, we are never alone—Jesus walks with us even when we aren’t aware of His presence.

Suggested Uses:

  • Appropriate for reflection before prayer or worship service begins
  • Version without titles can be custom fit for your Church service—mute the sound and use it as a background for worship song lyrics.

Biblical Reference:

  • James 4:8 Come close to God, and he will come close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Lyrics

I am far from grace. I am far from truth. I am far from love. I feel so far from you.

I want to come back home (4 x) I am on my way.  (4 x)

(repeat)

We’re calling you. We’re needing you. We’re loving you.
